SKAM (Shame in Norwegian) is a surprise success that made a huge impact on teenagers around the world with a viral cult following in many areas in Asia, Middle East and other Western countries, rumoured to have been seen by more than 6 million viewers in China even though it was not officially distributed.

 

Currently still popular, many fans have created fan art, fan videos, blogs, discussions and comparisons between the different remake versions in 6 different countries. One only has to google SKAM to see how popular it is amongst fans, who would welcome a version in their language and culture.

 

SKAM is a online drama series that follows the lives of a group of high school teens in Oslo, broadcast on NRK from 2015 - 2017. Taking a cue from the hit show Skins, each season of Skam revolves around the arc of one character. Viewers could follow the series every day at skam.p3.no. Every Friday the whole week’s episodes were collected in one episode on NRK.
